Rogue Gallery

Calm checks, not panic. Rogue Squishies are nicknames for suspected fakes — not a lab finding. A photo cannot measure benzene or VOCs.

Rogue Squishies and Gloop Drops — watch categories and named notices only. We do not invent recalls for butter, peanuts, mesh bags, or Vaseline lookalikes.

  • NoticeUnbranded Squeezy Dumplings (Samsons)

Basket pot, cartoon bao, no batch IDs. UK OPSS consumer recall after benzene in outer layer.

    OPSS 2606-0196

Stop use. Keep from children. Not the same as genuine RMS dumplings.

  • WatchPipihome Rainbow Mystery Squishy Bun (UK)

Amazon listing removed. VOC notice (xylenes, styrene). Not the US OKK water-bead recall.

    OPSS 2609-0002

Do not merge with US OKK D08004. Check GOV.UK if you bought this ASIN.

  • NoticeOKK Rainbow Mystery Squishy Bun D08004 (US)

US CPSC recall only — water beads in translucent glitter bun and steamer.

    CPSC 26-737

US recall, not a UK OPSS recall. Still a useful lookalike ID for travellers.

  • WatchGold Butter / Bouncy Butter sticks

Salted-butter lookalike category. Seized in RCT, Lancashire, Milton Keynes — no named Gold Butter recall.

Treat as high-risk discount-bin stock. Never heat or coat in wax.

  • NoticeMesh-bag squishy donuts (not dumplings)

Only OPSS Squishy Donut Toy (2504-0287) officially names a white plastic net bag. Dumpling notices use steamer/basket pots — do not treat mesh bags as a dumpling-recall mark.

    OPSS 2504-0287

Choking risk from packaging closures. Not the same as steamer dumpling recalls.

  • WatchVaseline / cosmetic-tub gel lookalikes

Not Unilever. Oily, sticky unbranded gel fidgets. CPSC: stop if oily/sticky — no named UK recall.

High leak and mouthing risk. Not a lab-tested Vaseline product.

  • WatchMaltose slime / sugar squish bags

Distinct from steamer dumplings and pot slime. TikTok moldable maltose bags.

Separate from dumpling benzene story. Check UKCA/CE and importer.

  • NoticePot slime / butter slime (boron)

Named UK slime notices exist (e.g. Buki France 2504-0162). Not the same as bun benzene.

    OPSS 2504-0162 (slime category)

Search GOV.UK for slime recalls separately from dumpling notices.

  • WatchFake NeeDoh / Nice Cube copies

Oxfordshire seized 71 fakes in one shop. Petrol smell, Temu wrap, fake brand crossovers.

Genuine NeeDoh is Schylling + Bigjigs. Fakes are the TS story — not all NeeDoh is unsafe.

Sellers to treat carefully

  • Unnamed market stall

£8 next to an £18 shop ticket is the classic copy tell. No returns trail.

  • TikTok shop with stock photos only

No UK address, no receipt, often a different toy on arrival.

  • Random marketplace seller

New account, implausible price, hang-tag spelling you would not see in Smyths.

  • Listed price well below Smyths, Entertainer, Argos, or Tesco for the same style of toy.

  • Misspelled brand or character on the hang tag.

  • Strong petrol, solvent, or unusual chemical smell (Cornwall, Warrington, Swansea TS).

  • Burst, leaking, sticky, or oily gel filling.
