If you see water beads

Keep water beads away from children under 5. Supervise older children.
If the toy skin splits and beads come out, stop play and keep beads away from mouths.
Beads can expand in the gut (often hard to see on X-ray). Symptoms may start hours or a day later.
If you think a child swallowed a bead or has breathing trouble: seek urgent medical care (999 if severe). Take a sample to A&E if possible.

Never microwave squishies

Never microwave, oven-heat, or intentionally heat squishies. Viral videos are dangerous.
Do not leave in a hot car, direct sun, or on a heater. Gel can superheat and burst.
If burned: cool under running water for 20 minutes. No ice, creams, oils, or butter (NHS).
Face, large, or deep burns: 999 or A&E. Unsure: NHS 111.

Missing care label or UK importer / responsible person on the packaging.
Stock photos only, no UK returns address on marketplace listings.
Car boot, discount shop, or social ad with no proper packaging (Glasgow, North Northants TS).
Strong petrol, solvent, or unusual chemical smell (Cornwall, Warrington, Swansea TS).
Burst, leaking, sticky, or oily gel filling.
Skin splits and water beads or glitter liquid are visible inside.
Small parts or eyes that detach easily on a young child's toy.

Certified Softies vs avoid

Trusted shops: Smyths Toys, The Entertainer, Argos, Tesco. A UKCA or CE mark alone is not enough. Fakes copy marks.
